Manchester United have Bayer Leverkusen’s Patrik Schick in their striker target list for the summer window.
That’s according to Sky Deutschland journalist Patrick Berger and he took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to report on Manchester United’s interest in Schick.
He claims the Premier League club are monitoring the 29-year-old’s situation at Bayer Leverkusen.
The Czech Republic international has scored 23 goals and registered an assist from 40 games this season.
Rasmus Højlund and Joshua Zirkzee have led Manchester United’s attack this season and haven’t found the back of the net regularly. This has seen Ruben Amorim’s side look for options in the market and they reportedly prefer a young striker.
Despite this, the Red Devils are said to be interested in the Bundesliga frontman. Berger adds they have held initial discussions but haven’t made any concrete advances so far. He doesn’t specify whether Manchester United held talks with Schick, Bayer Leverkusen or both.
The player’s contract lasts until 2027, and the German club are requesting €25-30m to sanction his sale. In addition to this, Schick prefers a move to the Premier League amid interest from Saudi Arabia.
Schick’s transfer desire and Bayer Leverkusen’s price tag would favour Manchester United to sign him in the next window.
