Following the claims in England that Manchester United were moving to try and sign Gleison Bremer from Juventus in the summer, we now see them being corroborated in Italy, with added information about a Wolverhampton Wanderers star.
This comes from Calciomercato.it, who cover the situation and explain that the Red Devils have ‘intensified contacts’ to sign the defender as they attempt to ‘gain an advantage’ on the rest of the English competition.
In fact, INEOS have reportedly ‘made it known’ that they have ‘no problem’ paying the €58m that would be required to trigger the release clause in the player’s contract, meaning Manchester United could easily get him.
However, the spending on Brazilian players wouldn’t stop there, as the Italian website reveal that the Old Trafford side have also put Joao Gomes, currently at Wolves, ‘on their radar’.
It’s said that Manchester United are currently valuing the midfielder at ‘around €40m’, but that isn’t a price the Molineux side are considering.
In fact, Calciomercato.it have found out that Wolves ‘are starting at a slight higher price’ to let the 23-year-old leave, having signed him from Flamengo in January of last year for €18.7m.
He has become a key member of Gary O’Neil’s side in that time, and has made 28 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring two goals and assisting another.
Therefore, Manchester United could end up spending more than €100m on the pair if they do go after them both, which remains to be seen for now.
