Manchester United are keen on Royal Antwerp’s George Ilenikhena, according to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, relayed by Voetbalkrant.
The 17-year-old striker has scored 14 goals and registered an assist from 39 games since joining the Jupiler Pro League side from Amiens SC last summer.
This has resulted in a ‘great interest’ from England and in particular from Manchester United, who would like to sign him in the summer. The Nigerian has a deal until 2027 and will turn 18 years of age in August.
Tavolieri adds the Red Devils are also showing interest in Ilenikhena’s teammate, Mandela Keita.
Royal Antwerp signed the 21-year-old Belgium international from OH Leuven on a loan deal with an option to buy. The midfielder has made 30 appearances this season and the journalist says Erik ten Hag’s side ‘see something’ in Keita.
Tavolieri states Manchester United would ‘like to steal’ the two players in the summer.
Royal Antwerp have already sold Arthur Vermeeren to Atlético Madrid in January, partly out of necessity. They could sell Ilenikhena and/or Keita after this season, for the ‘right amount’.
The report makes no mention of any figures, and Transfermarkt value Ilenikhena at €7m and Keita at €11m.
