Manchester United legend Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is ‘ready’ to step in as interim manager at Bayern Munich should they decide to part ways with Thomas Tuchel before the summer.
That’s according to journalist Florian Plettenberg, who says Solskjaer is open to the temporary position if Bayern don’t stick to their plan with the German manager.
Tuchel is set to step away from Bayern Munich at the end of the season after the two parties decided to bring their relationship to a close following weeks of speculation.
Pressure had been growing on Tuchel following a series of disappointing performances in the Bundesliga, where they are eight points behind Bayer Leverkusen, and in the Champions League, where they were beaten by Lazio.
The decision has now been made to go in a different direction at the end of the season, but should that plan change in the coming weeks and months, Solskjaer would be ‘ready as an interim solution’.
He’s yet to take up a new position after leaving his role as Manchester United manager but would be willing to sign a contract that would only last until the end of the season regardless.
Bayern are aware of that and are monitoring the Manchester United legend should Tuchel need to leave prematurely.
