Juventus forward Mario Mandzukic has so far scored only one goal for Croatia in the 2018 World Cup, which came in the knockout stages against Denmark.

According to Alfredo Pedulla, the Turin club will take stock of the situation regarding the 32-year-old after his country’s campaign in the ongoing Fifa tournament in Russia.

The former Bayern Munich star has reportedly been on the radar of Manchester United recently. Jose Mourinho is said to be an admirer of Mandzukic, which makes sense, and would like him at Old Trafford.

The report claims the Serie A winners are open to the idea of allowing the attacker to leave the Allianz Stadium, if the player asks to leave.

Juventus are aware of Mandzukic’s technical and tactical abilities but will not keep the player against his wish. Alfredo Pedulla says a move to Manchester United could be a possibility.

The Old Lady are after United defender Matteo Darmian. The fullback is open to the idea of joining Juventus, but the two clubs are yet to agree a fee.

The Italian outfit have informed the former Torino man to be patient. If he has not managed to find a new club, it’s claimed Juventus and United could work on a swap deal involving Mandzukic and Darmian.

There’s no mention of money also being exchanged, but a straight Darmian-Mandzukic swap seems too good to be true.
