Manchester United still have an ‘insistent’ interest in signing Kieran Trippier from Atletico Madrid, reports Mundo Deportivo.

The England international is thought to be keen on a return to English football, so a move to Old Trafford would suit him perfectly. Mundo Deportivo report he returned to Atletico on Tuesday and has gone through his routine preseason medical tests with the club.

That would make it clear that he’s not of the mind to try and force a move like his former club teammate Harry Kane is doing at Tottenham.

Mundo Deportivo continue to insist Atletico Madrid are completely against selling the right-back this summer, with manager Diego Simeone being satisfied with what he gets from Trippier.

Therefore, they’d want Manchester United to part with €40m to get a deal done, so they could go and buy a replacement before the end of the market.

Tuesday saw claims from Italy that the Red Devils won’t let Diogo Dalot go until they’ve managed to secure a deal for Trippier or an alternative, and this is a situation which will surely see developments in the final weeks of the window.
