Manchester United are interested in Bayern Munich rising star Mathys Tel and have been in contact about a potential move.
That’s according to BILD, who have backed up reports elsewhere in Germany that Manchester United are very much in the picture for the Frenchman.
They report that European clubs believe there could be a chance to snap up Tel this summer as he’s barely featured under Thomas Tuchel this season, despite impressing when given his opportunity.
That’s led some clubs to believe the door to a transfer may be opening in the summer and Manchester United are one of the clubs interested in him. They, and other clubs, have already ‘inquired’ about him according to BILD’s information.
They add that Tel has ruled out a loan deal away from Bavaria and has made it clear either he stays in Munich or leaves permanently.
He’s seemingly growing frustrated with his situation at the club and has made it clear he wants to ‘hear a clear commitment or plan’ from the club for him moving forwards.
The Frenchman is tied to the club until 2027 but it’s debatable whether he’ll remain until that point and the suggestion is he may push to leave permanently if he’s not convinced by whatever plan the club put in front of him.
That’s been confirmed by his agent Gadiri Camara, who has confirmed the player will consider his options if he doesn’t like what he hears.
“Mathys loves the club, the fans, he wants to be important and win all the trophies here with a strong team,” he told BILD.
“Sometimes you just need to feel like you’re on the same path. We’ll see very soon, but I’m confident. But if not, we have to consider all options because Mathys knows that he is valuable and will be a top player.”
