Ousmane Dembele’s situation at Barcelona continues to be complicated, even with him now a regular under Ronald Koeman. The Catalan club had been tempted to part ways in the summer, with a permanent exit what they were thought to want most.

Manchester United and others were linked, yet the interest appeared to be in the form of a loan, with question marks over Dembele’s fitness, form and attitude.

Whilst he’s done much to answer those questions this season, so far at least, there’s still doubt over his future. The Frenchman’s contract with Barcelona expires in June 2022, and his entourage have been holding off renewal talks.

That means Barcelona’s new president, with elections now delayed, will be ‘obliged’ to sell in the summer if there’s no new deal signed.

Sport report that interest isn’t lacking, and it’s no surprise to see Manchester United mentioned again.

The Red Devils are hovering, ‘perfectly informed’ of the player’s situation and ‘on the lookout’ for the potential signing.

According to the Catalan newspaper, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side could make a move in the coming months, or alternatively try and hold out and see if Dembele is available for free in 2022.

Chelsea, Juventus and Bayern Munich are also credited with an interest.
