Even though Manchester United are heavily linked to the signing of Fiorentina’s Sofyan Amrabat, the Spanish media continue to report that Atlético Madrid are also coming strong for the midfielder.
Sport today feature a story claiming the player has chosen to play for the Colchoneros.
It’s said that despite interest from the likes of Barcelona and Liverpool, with Manchester United not even mentioned, the player wants to work with Diego Simeone.
The report also claims that Fiorentina set a price of €40m for Amrabat’s transfer this summer. That’s a little strange, given that the entire Italian media has been speaking of €30m.
It’s said the player already gave Atletico Madrid his approval, and none of the other interested clubs managed to ‘seduce’ him or make him change his mind.
That’s a completely different view from what we’ve been seeing in the Italian media, and it’s actually quite interesting in case the Colchoneros aren’t even considering the competition from Manchester United for this signing. We should soon get to know who’s right in this story.
Perhaps this is one to take with a pinch of salt, especially because it’s very odd not to mention Manchester United and also due to the price claim being different.
