Wednesday’s edition of Sabah reports Manchester United goalkeeper Altay Bayındır has been offered to Goztepe, a sister-club to Southampton in the Sport Republic group.

The Turkey international could be offloaded in the summer after failing to make an impact since his transfer from Fenerbahce in the 2023 summer window.

Sabah report Sport Republic have been specifically approached to see if they’d like to sign the Manchester United player.

Sport Republic also own Southampton, which saw Mateusz Lis transferred from the Saints to the Super Lig club last summer. However, the Polish goalkeeper endured a difficult season, and it’s suggested they could replace him with Bayındır.

According to the Turkish newspaper, Manchester United have also been in contact with other Turkish clubs, but a deal may be difficult as the 27-year-old doesn’t want a return to the Super Lig.

Bayındır is said to be keen on remaining in western Europe after two seasons in Manchester.

The goalkeeper has made just 11 appearances for Manchester United and is contracted until June 2027.
