Manchester United are getting closer to an agreement with Paris Saint Germain for midfielder Manuel Ugarte.
That’s according to Le Parisien, who say the two clubs are ‘leaning towards an agreement’ for the Uruguayan.
The newspaper reports that Manchester United would be signing the midfielder on a permanent basis on a deal worth €60m. There are details that need to finalised, but the parties are confident that will happen.
According to their information, Ugarte is slowly but surely heading towards the exit door at PSG. He only arrived at the club last summer from Sporting Club de Portugal but has been deemed surplus to requirements.
Manchester United are keen and have been for some time. They’re now negotiating with PSG over a €60m deal. That would allow the French side to recoup almost all of what they spent last summer to sign him.
There are final details to be resolved to complete the operation, but the relevant parties are confident. The belief is that the deal can be done before the end of the transfer window.
Ugarte’s move is being orchestrated by super-agent Jorge Mendes. He has a good relationship with Manchester United after representing Leny Yoro in his move earlier this summer and is now facilitating this transfer.
