Atlético de Madrid forward João Félix should join Manchester United in the January transfer window ahead of the other suitors for his signature.
That’s according to artificial intelligence Olocip, who have looked at the player’s future and make a decision for AS.
The Portuguese star is set to leave the Wanda Metropolitano next month after an apparent falling out with Diego Simeone.
That, and the Spanish side’s need to raise money to fill a hole in their finances caused by their failure to qualify for the Champions League knockout stages, has reportedly pushed him to the exit door.
A whole host of sides in Europe are believed to be keen on his signature, including Manchester United, who are known to be long-term admirers of the forward.
Interpreting the data provided by Artificial Intelligence and making a ‘predictive comparison’, they report that the ‘best thing’ for Félix would be to join Manchester United.
According to them, in the next six months his contribution ‘will be greater’ in terms of defence, offence and playmaking. He was also increase his goal and assist production.
This AI estimates that Félix, if he stays at Atlético, will score a goal every 268.8 minutes, or one every three games. At Arsenal, another of suitors, this would be every 228.9 minutes but would fall to 201.6 with Manchester United.
It’s a similar story in assists, which would come every 718 minutes at Atlético, every 694 minutes for Arsenal but every 497 minutes for Manchester United. In both cases, ‘Erik ten Hag’s system is the best fit’.
Whether that’s something Félix takes into account when deciding his future remains to be seen but it seem at least in terms of the numbers, Old Trafford would be his best choice.
