Manchester United are ‘not currently planning’ to make an offer for Harry Kane, while Bayern Munich are not in talks either.
That’s according to journalist Florian Plettenburg and Sky Germany, who says neither club are currently pursuing a deal for the striker.
The player’s current contract is set to enter its final year this summer and he is yet to sign, or show any signs of agreeing, an extension to keep him at his current club.
It has led to increased speculation about his future in London, with several big clubs in Europe said to be thinking about a possible move.
Manchester United are one of them, with them looking likely to sign a striker this summer after letting Cristiano Ronaldo leave before the World Cup.
They signed Wout Weghorst on loan in January to fill the gap but he’s not a long-term solution and it’s believed an elite level striker will be at the top of Erik ten Hag’s wish-list at the end of the season.
According to Sky Germany, though, the Red Devils are ‘currently not planning to make an offer’ for the 29-year-old despite numerous reports about the two sides ‘flirting’ with each other.
Of course, there is plenty of time for that to change but at the moment it seems their priorities, or Ten Hag’s at least, are focused elsewhere.
Should they move they are currently unlikely to face competition from Bayern, with Plettenburg adding that “the trail to Bayern is very, very cold. There are no talks going on at all at the moment.”
That comes after it appeared the Bavarians would be moving, with it even claimed on the 10th of this month that they wanted to get in touch with him about a move.
At the moment that appears to not be the case and both they and Manchester United are looking elsewhere for the striker they want.
