Everything surrounding André Onana is speeding up, it seems, as after claims from Calciomercato.it that contacts between Manchester United and Inter Milan had intensified since this morning, further talks are being planned.
That’s according to Sport Italia, who have an exclusive regarding the Red Devils’ move for the Cameroon international.
They claim, via their journalist Alfredo Pedullà, that Inter are ‘planning to hold a conference call’ with Manchester United this evening to ‘finalise the deal’.
In fact, Onana himself is ‘ready to wear’ the shirt of the Old Trafford side, with a deal between the two clubs expected to be agreed at around €55m.
Such is their desire to get a transfer done that Inter are counting on closing the transfer ‘by tomorrow’.
That’s quite an acceleration, but with a lot of work to do on the transfer market and money needed to convince Chelsea to sell Romelu Lukaku, it’s understandable that they would want this to be done sooner rather than later.
In turn, Erik ten Hag will be getting David De Gea’s replacement earlier than expected, which will be ideal for him to integrate the squad ahead of an important season in the Premier League and Champions League.
