Last month, claims from Belgium reported Manchester United are in the mix to sign Senne Lammens. Royal Antwerp sporting director Marc Overmars had explained the goalkeeper needs to be sold this summer, as they’d already brought a replacement in.
On July 28th, Lammens sounded keen on a move, hailing the Premier League side as “one of the best clubs”.
Het Laatste Nieuws reports Manchester United want to bring the stopper to Old Trafford in this window.
They claim the Red Devils’ discussion with the 23-year-old’s camp is progressing well and it’s a ‘matter of time’ before they agree personal terms.
André Onana and Altay Bayındır haven’t fully convinced Ruben Amorim. HLN reports one of them has to leave and solution is expected to be found, to make room for Lammens.
Manchester United haven’t found an agreement yet with Royal Antwerp, who are asking €20m for the Belgian. The negotiations are ongoing, and HLN say ‘a top transfer is edging closer’, indicating the clubs are expected to meet common ground.
Bayındır’s error led to Manchester United suffering a 1-0 defeat to Arsenal last weekend. This, coupled with Onana not convincing, would have seen the English club internally push to sign the Royal Antwerp player.
That’s according to Saturday’s edition of Gazet van Antwerpen, and they say Manchester United have held positive talks with Lammens and he’s keen on a move.
The newspaper adds the Jupiler Pro League side are requesting €20m for their player and the Red Devils are ‘close to agreement with Antwerp for Lammens’.
He trained yesterday with his teammates, but the newspaper questions whether he’ll be in the squad for Sunday’s clash against KV Mechelen.
To sum it up, HLN reports Manchester United close to agreeing personal terms with the player and GVA claims the agreement between the two clubs is close.
