With all his good performances at Bologna this season, Joshua Zirkzee is said to have caught the attention of the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea.
Both teams could use some extra strikers in their squad, which is why they have been linked with the Dutchman, who has all the physical attributes and eye for goal to potentially be a success in the Premier League.
Corriere dello Sport cover the player on Monday after the 22-year-old was once again decisive against Lazio at the weekend, helping Bologna leave with three points and showing just why the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea are after him.
There is even a comparison to Roberto Baggio, who played for the Serie A side between 1997-98, in there, showing just how impressed the Italians are with the towering striker.
They explain that every time he scores, intermediaries and such ‘get agitated’, as the likes of AC Milan, Juventus, AS Roma, Chelsea and Manchester United, alongside Barcelona, are ‘already lined up’ for him.
The prospect of a huge sale this summer will be tempting, but Joey Saputo, Bologna’s president, is urged to hold onto Zirkzee, as the writer, Italo Cucci, feels there is something special brewing under Thiago Motta reminiscent of the 1964 team that won Serie A.
That feat would be close to a miracle, and it remains to be seen whether the club can not only hold onto Zirkzee, but also their manager, who is himself a wanted man across Europe.
