Eric Bailly has returned to Manchester United after a loan spell at Marseille last season.

Erik ten Hag left him out of his plans last season and that’s not expected to change for the new season after the manager didn’t include the 29-year-old in the squad for the pre-season tour to the US.

The Manchester United defender could have an opportunity to make a switch to Saudi Arabia if French journalist Marc Mechenoua is to be believed.

He took to Twitter to state the centre-back is ‘in talks’ with Al-Nassr over a summer move.

The Middle Eastern club have already acquired former Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo last December.

The journalist suggests the forward’s friendship with the Ivory Coast international could be a reason for Al-Nassr to hold discussions with him over a potential deal.

Bailly has a year left on his deal. After being left out of Ten Hag’s plans again, it’s unlikely that Manchester United would stop him from leaving permanently this summer.

The former Villarreal man arrived at Old Trafford in 2016 and has struggled with injuries during his time in England.
