Earlier today, we relayed some details of Manchester United’s chase for RB Leipzig attacker Lois Openda.
It was claimed the Red Devils have requested details about the player, as they have some interest about a potential future deal.
It turns out that Sky Deutschland today features a story which has nothing to do with Manchester United, but should be of big interest to Erik ten Hag’s side.
The outlet got to know that RB Leipzig spent an initial amount of €38.5m on his signing, and the bonuses may make it reach €43m. Now the most interesting information is on a release clause which was attached to his contract.
It’s said the striker can leave the German side for €80m, but that can only be triggered in 2025, so Manchester United and other interested clubs should have to wait to take advantage of it.
Should Ten Hag see the attacker as an urgent solution, the Red Devils will still have to negotiate with RB Leipzig for a fee.
In his first months at the German club, Openda has four goals and two assists in nine games.
