With the season very close to being over for Manchester United, with just the FA Cup final left to play, work will be ongoing behind the scenes on the transfer market.
Erik ten Hag has worked wonders this season at Old Trafford, helping the club finish third and return to the Champions League, but that’s only the beginning in his eyes.
The Dutchman wants Manchester United to continue to grow, and for that, he will need a new striker, with Gazzetta dello Sport claiming the interest in Victor Osimhen is still there.
The newspaper look at the player’s future and possible options, and explain Napoli want to ideally keep him, with talks for a new contract underway.
However, the white smoke has yet to arrive on that front, and, in the meantime, his agent has ‘received calls’ from various clubs such Bayern Munich, Newcastle and Manchester United.
As you will know by now, buying Osimhen won’t be easy, as Aurelio De Laurentiis doesn’t want to sell him, which is why he will ‘ask for around €150m to sit at the negotiating table’.
He hopes this asking price will put off the various suitors, because he knows ‘few can afford’ such a sum, at least up front.
So, we will have to wait and see whether Manchester United go for the Nigerian striker, who has scored 30 goals in 38 appearances in all competitions this season, with one game left to play in Serie A.
