With Yannick Carrasco standing close to the exit door at Atletico Madrid, Manchester United are labelled as one of the contenders for his signing.
That’s today reported by AS, who feature a story explaining that the player has lost all importance he had at the La Liga side.
The Spanish newspaper writes that Carrasco has been ‘missing’ at Atletico Madrid, as he’s mostly stayed on the bench and doesn’t have any influence on their games.
His contract with the Colchoneros expires in 2024, but AS claim he won’t be there to fulfil that final year. Partly because the club already have a deal outlined with Barcelona for him to move for €20m.
It’s said the Red Devils are ‘very attentive’ to the player and ‘to what could happen’ in the coming months, so they stand as candidates to sign him in the summer.
Carrasco has four goals and two assists for Atletico Madrid this season, with his last goals scored in December.
Manchester United probably don’t see Carrasco’s position as a priority area for the summer, unless there’s outgoings. If they do decide to move then there’s the chance of a bargain deal, and perhaps paying less than the €20m mentioned.
