Earlier this month, we covered claims from Italy that Manchester United and Chelsea are primed for a tussle to sign Dušan Vlahović when his contract at Juventus expires next summer.
It was also explained the striker’s €12m per year salary has become a burden for the Old Lady.
Journalist Ciro Venerato has talked about Manchester United and Chelsea interest on Rai’s La Nuova DS. Tutto Juve have relayed his comments.
He claims the Serbia international will leave in January. The Serie A side want to avoid losing him for free. They also want to save on his last six months of salary, which totals around €12m.
“Between Juve and Vlahović, we’ve reached the end credits, despite the usual denials. He’ll leave in January, no matter what,” he said.
“The management doesn’t intend to lose him on a free transfer. They’d also like to save the €6m net, €12m gross with taxes, of the last few months.”
When discussing the former Fiorentina man’s suitors, Venerato says Manchester United and Chelsea are interested: “Rumours of Chelsea and United’s interest are confirmed, but AC Milan’s latest arrival can’t be ruled out.”
He adds the Premier League duo could face a battle with AC Milan as their approach cannot be ruled out.
The journalist claims, relayed by another report from Tutto Juve, Vlahović’s sale in the winter market would allow the Turin club to sign Sergej Milinković-Savić.
Manchester United and Chelsea have signed new strikers for this season. Whether they want an experienced option to add to their squads remains to be seen.
