Erik ten Hag has been encouraged to consider signing Juventus star Gleison Bremer for Manchester United.
That’s coming from former Torino manager Moreno Longo, and he made this claim during an interview with Tutto Juve.
For the past weeks, Manchester United have been pushed forward as a main contender to sign the defender in the summer.
On February 1st, Tuttosport reported the Red Devils are expected to have a meeting with the Serie A side for the 26-year-old.
Last Tuesday, Calciomercato explained that Manchester United are leading the race and that the Old Lady need a good offer to part ways with him.
“I’m not good at numbers and evaluations of players, if I were a coach of those teams [United and other interested clubs] I would look for that type of defender,” he said.
“He has an overwhelming physicality, he defends in the open field without fear of having 40/50 metres behind him and he plays dominant football. I would always want that.”
When told his opinion on the South American could be biased, the coach explained what he saw in Bremer at Torino.
“When I arrived at Torino, he was a bit on the fringes. The starter was Lyanco and I put my trust in him, because I saw great qualities in him to become a very important defender. He knew how to seize the opportunity,” Longo explained.
He didn’t mention Bremer’s valuation, resulting in Tutto Juve pointing out the figures are around €70-80m.
“The market creates the figures, sometimes it’s the dynamics that create them. It’s difficult today to try to give a price of this kind on a defender, but we are talking about one of the most important and the price to get him could be equally high,” the Italian coach added.
