Catalan newspaper Sport are showing some confidence that a Barcelona move for Bernardo Silva can still happen this summer, despite the club spending so much already in the transfer window.

The Manchester City star has been linked with Barca for over a year, and it’s thought he’d welcome the move. Sport explain that whilst the Premier League champions don’t want to lose the Portugal international, they’re aware of the situation and have made moves to look for a replacement.

According to the report, Pep Guardiola has requested his club move to sign Lucas Paqueta from Lyon, and it’s even claimed talks for the move are ‘well advanced’.

Despite all of that, Bernardo Silva’s future still seems heavily reliant on what happens with Frenkie de Jong. Barcelona are looking to sell the midfielder, mainly to Manchester United, but he’s been holding up the move for various reasons.

This is a situation which could drag on until the end of the summer window, and that could also hold up any Manchester City move for Paqueta.
