This week, reports from the Argentine media claimed Manchester City may not be in a hurry to add Valentin Barco to their squad.
It was claimed that Pep Guardiola’s side would accept agreeing a deal with Boca Juniors now and letting him stay at the Buenos Aires side for a few more months.
According to Hugo Balassone, from TyC Sports (via MDZ), Manchester City actually have other plans for the youngster.
It’s claimed a decision has been made by the Premier League side to loan him out to a Championship side.
Manchester City’s intention would be to let the midfielder gain some experience in European football, making his adaptation to the Premier League easier.
Barco is currently protected by a US$10m release clause, although reports from Argentina continue to say that Boca Juniors are offering him a new deal with a bigger clause.
With Manchester City’s interest being reported for so long, it sounds like they’re waiting for the end of the South American season before placing their bid for Barco’s transfer.
