Manchester City owners are keeping eye on another South American youngster, according to local reports.
Journalist Cesar Luis Merlo writes that there’s now interest in Barcelona de Guayaquil forward Allen Obando.
It’s not yet clear whether the City Group would like to have the player at Manchester City or any of their partners, although Pep Guardiola’s side would clearly have the priority if they desired.
According to Merlo’s report, the Ecuadorian club are not in a hurry to sell the youngster. It’s claimed that they’d like to wait until the U17 World Cup to evaluate potential offers.
That clearly raises the chances of an auction for the youngster, as that kind of tournament always attracts a large number of scouts from all over Europe.
Obando has recently been promoted to Barcelona’s first team, and only has five official appearances for them, with one goal scored.
He has a good record in the U17 national team, though, with five goals in ten games, and that’s where he probably drew the interest from Manchester City and the City Group.
