On Tuesday, Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb came up with a story saying Manchester City are interested in Inter Milan midfielder Nicolo Barella.
With the club worried about Bernardo Silva’s potential exit, they had the Nerazzurri player as their ‘first name’ in their list, as Pep Guardiola was ‘impressed’ with him in the Champions League final.
The rumour made some noise in the local press, and now Sport Mediaset, relayed by FC Inter 1908, has something to say about Manchester City’s pursuit.
They claim that in case Bernardo Silva leaves for Paris Saint Germain, the English champions indeed want to convince Inter Milan with a €120m offer on the table.
The Nerazzurri, however, are said not to be interested in any kind of deal. It’s claimed the club consider Barella ‘non-transferable’, and there is ‘no possibility of opening negotiations’ for his sale this summer.
We’re obviously talking about a huge amount of money here, so it’d be an interesting situation in case Manchester City do end up making such bid for Barella.
But first, they need to sort what to do with Bernardo Silva.
