Two months ago, Corriere dello Sport explained Manchester City, Barcelona and Real Madrid have ‘never stopped following’ Napoli’s Fabián Ruiz.

The Serie A side finished the campaign in fifth spot after a point against Verona in their last tie of the season on Sunday.

Napoli chief Aurelio De Laurentiis confirmed Gennaro Gattuso’s exit after his side failure to seal a top four finish.

The search for a new manager has started and Italian journalist Emanuele Cammaroto provides an update on this, in his column for Napoli Magazine.

According to the journalist, De Laurentiis would like to ‘start the new project’ after resolving Gattuso’s successor.

As part of the ‘new project’, there could be few outgoings in the summer transfer window.

He claims Napoli’s idea is to ‘listen to proposals’ for possible departures of big players, and Fabián is included in this list. The Spain international hasn’t renewed his contract that runs down in 2023.

Cammaroto explains the midfielder is valued at €60m and there could be a potential transfer battle involving Pep Guardiola’s side.

He adds the player ‘will be auctioned’ between Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain and Atlético Madrid this summer.
