Girona star Savinho has insisted he will sit down and discuss his future at the club with his agents, as he’s heavily linked with a move to Manchester City.
Sport cover comments from the Brazilian today after months of reports that Manchester City have already moved to add him to Pep Guardiola’s squad for next season.
Savinho has been the star of the show for Girona this season, with nine goals and ten assists in 37 games in La Liga key to the Spanish side qualifying for the Champions League.
The 20-year-old is currently on loan from Troyes in France, but his numbers have reportedly put him on the radar of Manchester City.
They are the leading team in the City Group network of clubs that also own Girona and Troyes and several reports have indicated that they’re keen to get the young Brazilian to the Etihad next season.
Indeed, reports in Spain have pretty much insisted that the deal to make that happen has already been done and that Girona have been looking at replacements.
However, no official confirmation of such an agreement has been made and Savinho has made it clear he intends to talk with his agents first.
“I am very happy to be here, in this wonderful event, nominated for best U-23 player,” Sport report him saying after being nominated as the best U-23 player in La Liga.
“La Liga is not an easy competition, but my adaptation has been fantastic. Now the season has ended, and I will sit down with Girona and my representative to find out if I will be able to play for the team during the next Champions League season.”
