Bayern Munich have been chasing Manchester City’s Leroy Sane this summer.
On July 30th, Bild in Germany reported the Bavarian club have ‘postponed’ their squad photograph until September, with the suggestion they’re hoping to include Sane.
The Premier League winners have identified Real Sociedad’s Mikel Oyarzabal as a target, if Sane leaves the Etihad this summer, according to claims which seems to be coming from the player’s camp.
Wednesday’s edition of AS takes a look at the situation regarding the Spaniard.
Pep Guardiola doesn’t want to keep unhappy players in the squad and AS say Sane has told City he wants to join Bayern. However, in the past few hours, the domestic treble winners have ‘taken a step’ to stop the Sane transfer operation.
There is no explanation as to what made City take this step, and, frankly, it all feels like AS looking for a way to bin the Oyarzabal claim.
It takes a stretch of faith to believe they know both that Sane has asked to leave, and that his club have closed the door.
