If the latest claims from Germany are to be believed, then Kyle Walker is edging ever closer to leaving Manchester City for Bayern Munich.

The negotiations between the two clubs have been ongoing for some time for the England international, who is attracted by the idea of a new challenge away from the Etihad.

Still, no deal between Manchester City and the Bavarian side has been struck yet, but Sport1 in Germany believe it’s all looking good.

They say the arrival of the right-back is ‘getting closer’, and the agreement could ‘take shape on the sidelines’ of the friendly the two clubs are taking part in on Wednesday.

Right now, €15m are ‘under discussion’ as a fee for the veteran defender, and while Walker had ‘an offer’ from Manchester City to stick around at the Etihad, he is ‘looking for a new challenge’.

Florian Plettenberg took to Twitter to corroborate the optimism on Monday morning as well, explaining that everything is heading ‘in the right direction’, and the two clubs ‘will negotiate’ in Tokyo this week.

Not only that, but Walker will not take part in the friendly, which Bayern are already aware of, since there is no need to potentially put the deal at risk with an unwanted injury.
