The Argentine media may not be very sure about how Manchester City will manage to find an agreement with Boca Juniors for the transfer of Valentin Barco, but some people believe that move is pretty much done already.
On Twitter, Martin Liberman comes up to say that the fullback ‘will play’ for Pep Guardiola’s side very soon.
He claims that the agreement is so done that Manchester City already sent Barco a diet plan, to help him with personal weight training.
The report claims the English club want the player to arrive in December, when the South American season comes to an end, and they want him to be weighing at least 70 kilos, to try to take him to 73 or 74. Right now, the fullback weighs 64.
There’s clearly a possibility that Manchester City have been thinking about all this, but just as we said at the start of the story, they must reach an agreement with Boca Juniors first.
The Argentine side have actually been trying to extend Barco’s contract, and will apparently continue being tough in the talks, despite claims of a US$10m release clause.
