Following rumours in Brazil saying Manchester City forward Gabriel Jesus could soon be moving back to Palmeiras, journalist Jorge Nicola today features a video explaining this story.

The reporter claims he never really believed in this possibility, but following the many requests to talk about it, he finally went after some information. Now he claims the chances of this move are ‘zero’.

The reason why this rumour came out is because the Manchester City forward has not been called up by the national team.

So a loan at Palmeiras would be seen as a chance for him to play more and get a place in the World Cup squad.

However, it’s pointed out by Nicola that Manchester City are actually more interested in renewing his contract, which expires in 2023, instead of letting him go on a loan or a permanent deal.

It’s claimed that the Premier League side currently pay Jesus a salary of R$2.4m (£376k) per month, and are willing to double these wages in his next contract.

So even though the Brazilian may get back to Palmeiras at some point in the future, there is no chance this comeback is happening so soon.
