Barcelona’s pursuit of Manchester City midfielder Ikay Gundogan had an important new chapter on Thursday.
As filmed by El Chiringuito, the player’s agent and uncle Ihan Gundogan held a meeting with Barça chief Mateu Alemany at the club’s headquarters.
It’s Sport who write about the encounter, claiming Barcelona’s interest was ‘reactivated’ with Gundogan’s performance in Manchester City’s 3-0 win over Bayern Munich this week.
It’s claimed that the Catalan side work strongly to reinforce their midfield and the 32-year-old is the option they ‘like the most’.
According to Sport, Gundogan has a contract renewal offer from Manchester City, but he’s not exactly thrilled by the conditions placed on the table.
However, it’s well known that Barcelona don’t have a great financial situation, so in case he chooses a move to the La Liga side, he’d need to adapt to their reality as well.
More information brought by Sport is that Mateu Alemany officially denies talks for the Manchester City player. He claims to have spoken to Ihay Gundogan about Andreas Christensen, who’s also represented by the midfielder’s uncle.
Sport, though, clearly don’t believe him.
