Over the past couple of days, there has been some fairly regular news about the situation of Sergio Agüero and a potential move to Barcelona.

Betevé originally broke the news that a move was ‘imminent’ following the Argentine lawyers receiving a draft of the contract that the La Liga side were willing to offer, and that was backed up by TyC Sports in Argentina soon after.

However, Mundo Deportivo, and now El Chiringuito, are reporting there has yet to be anything concrete between Barcelona and the Manchester City legend.

The news comes from José Alvarez, who made it clear that while those in Agüero’s camp are aware of Barcelona’s interest, ‘there has been no direct contact’ between the two sides about him leaving the Etihad.

He then explains Manchester City ‘don’t really like’ the idea of their striker going to Barcelona, as it would be a ‘smack’ to them if he were to score 25 goals or so elsewhere.

That being said, from Agüero’s point of view, it’s believed he ‘wants to join’ the La Liga side, despite having offers from Chelsea and Juventus, if the Catalans come calling, he would ‘reunite with Lionel Messi’.
