Joao Cancelo plans to land in Barcelona on Thursday to complete a move to Barcelona from Manchester City.
That’s according to Sport, who say a deal is being worked on that is very favourable towards Manchester City at this point in time.
The newspaper explains that the arrival of Cancelo from Manchester City is ‘already a reality’, with the plan for him to travel on Thursday to put an end to negotiations.
The final details of the move are being worked on, but it will be a loan with an option to buy set at €25m, something which will become mandatory if Barcelona manage to reach the last 16 of the Champions League.
The Catalans will assume most of the player’s Manchester City salary, although the treble winners will still pay a part of it.
Striking a final agreement on that front is now just a matter of time and the defender could even be ready to be a part of Xavi’s squad in the next few days.
Everything indicates that he won’t be able to be registered for the weekend but that’s just a matter of timing and the reality is that there is an increased confidence the deal taking him from Manchester City to Barcelona will be finalised, an on very favourable terms for the former.
