Manchester City are one of the sides considering a move for Real Madrid goalkeeper Andriy Lunin this summer.
That’s according to Bernabéu Digital, who report that Manchester City have the goalkeeper on their shortlist if Ederson departs for Saudi Arabia.
Several reports have indicated that the Brazilian goalkeeper could be set to depart the Etihad this summer, with Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr keen on his signature and pushing to get him.
That would leave Manchester City looking for a new goalkeeper this summer and Bernabéu Digital report that Lunin is one of the names on their list.
They state that the Ukrainian goalkeeper is on the shortlist of goalkeepers being managed by the Premier League champions to cover Ederson’s departure should it happen.
He meets the parameters set by Guardiola and his team in that he is young and ready to be a starter, and the club even watched him impress last season in the Champions League clashes with Real Madrid.
They would want to take advantage of his current doubts at the Bernabéu, where he is likely to return to the bench next season now that Thibaut Courtois is back.
He feels ready to be a starter elsewhere and his agent, Jorge Mendes, is already looking for offers and holding a renewal offer at arm’s length.
The goalkeeper will need to make a decision on his future before long and Manchester City may be an option for him, if Ederson does end up leaving for Saudi Arabia.
