Manchester City attacker Kayky has returned to the club.
According to Futebol Bahiano, the player has returned to England following an anterior cruciate ligament injury he suffered during his spell at Bahia.
Kayky is now set to go through surgery and have treatment at Manchester City, instead of having the process in his home country.
The report claims that the recovery is expected to take between eight and nine months.
At the weekend, Bahia had already confirmed that the player would be returning to Manchester City for surgery.
Even though Pep Guardiola’s side apparently have no intention of using him, they seem to be taking good care of the player, who has a contract with them until 2026.
Kayky was signed by Manchester City in a €10m deal from Fluminense in the summmer of 2021.
In his first year in Europe, he was loaned to Portuguese side Paços Ferreira. Then in January this year, he joined Bahia in what was supposed to be a year-long loan.
The Brazilian club also belong to the City Group, and it would have been no surprise to see that turning into a permanent move.
Now we shall see how things will go after his recovery.
