Rayan Cherki could be set to return for Manchester City next week after being missing since the second game of the season.
That’s according to L’Equipe, who report that the Manchester City midfielder is set to return to training in the next couple of days.
Indeed, there is optimism about his return, and he could even be in the matchday squad to face Brentford on October 5th. An even more optimistic outlook could see him in the squad to face Monaco in the Champions League before that.
Cherki has only managed 71 minutes this season after picking up a hamstring injury at the beginning of the campaign. That’s kept him out until this point but an MRI test this week showed that the injury had now fully healed.
He’s now returned to training and Manchester City are optimistic about getting him back in due course, although this weekend is likely to come too soon.
His return for them could also give him a shot at returning to the France squad in time for the next international break, having missed the last one through injury. For now, though, the focus is on Manchester City.
