Jason Denayer was one of the main talking points in Turkey yesterday. The 21-year old was keen to join Galatasaray but, as we reported previously, his new boss Pep Guardiola insisted he should not go to Turkey because of the style and level of football.
Despite that advice Denayer only wanted to join the Turkish giants but Pep again blocked a move and the Belgian defender joined Sunderland later that day.
Fanatik understands that after Denayer’s insistence City officials told Galatasaray that they’d only let him leave permanently and told the Turkish club they’d have to pay £15M for his services.
Galatasaray, a club struggling with FFP already, kindly rejected the offer and Denayer joined Sunderland. Denayer is reportedly furious about the deal and also doesn’t understand how Guardiola dealt with it.
Earlier today a Denayer ‘liked’ a tweet on his official twitter account. The tweet was sent from a Galatasaray fan and said: ”Dishonest (Mojo) Pep!” following the Spanaird’s decision to not let the Belgian go to Galatasaray.
