São Paulo are set to finally accelerate the talks for the extension of Nahuel Ferraresi’s loan from Manchester City.
Globo Esporte today writes that the Brazilian club are in touch with the 24-year-old’s representatives and Pep Guardiola’s side about the new deal.
Ferraresi’s loan at São Paulo was supposed to end this summer. However, there’s a big wish from the South American side to keep him, especially because of the knee surgery which stopped him from playing for them this year.
The story claims the player’s wish is to stay as well. That’s why he’s personally involved in the talks with Manchester City to have the loan extended.
According to Globo Esporte, the situation is pretty much open. The priority is for a new loan, but the clubs may even end up negotiating a clause for a permanent transfer.
The talks are expected to advance in the ‘coming weeks’, with Manchester City having the final say on what the centre-back’s future will be.
Following the knee surgery, Ferraresi has been sidelined since January, and is only set to return in September.
