Back on Monday, Portuguese newspaper O Jogo reported Manchester City’s interest in the Sporting youngster Tiago Djaló, saying Pep Guardiola’s side have already ‘shown their wish’ to sign the player.

Now it seems that things have developed pretty quickly, because today, outlet A Bola has a story saying the current Premier League champions have already presented the player an offer.

Manchester City would be offering Djaló a five-year contract, with an initial salary of €15k per month.

Although it obviously doesn’t sound like a lot for a professional footballer, that’s much more than what Sporting are offering for him to renew his current deal, which expires at the end of the season.

A Bola claims that City’s plan is to close a deal ‘as soon as possible’. It’s just not clear if Djaló would make the move now or at the end of the season. The outlet says that all Sporting would get would be €300k from training compensation.

Meanwhile, O Jogo also has a story about the youngster today, claiming that he’s rejected Sporting’s last extension offer. So things look pretty good for Manchester City.
