With River Plate being one of the top clubs in South America for the past few years, many of their players are linked to European sides every single day.

A report from El Espectador claims that the City Group made an offer for the Millonario’s midfielder Jorge Carrascal.

The story’s headline mentions the ‘Manchester City owners’ as those responsible for the bid, but it’s not clear which club it is coming from.

Sources close to the player told El Espectador that ‘they want to make a project of youngsters around him’.

River Plate are said to be analysing the bid, and the report claims the 22-year-old could be moving ‘in the coming weeks’. So we should probably have more details on this offer once the Argentine media starts following the news.

Manchester City have already been linked to other River Plate players this year, such as defender Lucas Martinez Quarta and midfielder Nicolas De La Cruz. Both rumours have disappeared in the past couple of months.
