Three months ago, he had been covering Chelsea’s interest in the Braga winger Francisco Trincão. With the Blues’ chase being reported by the end of the transfer window, it seemed like they would have little time to land the player.

Well, nothing happened, the rumour was forgotten, and now the 18-year-old is linked to another Premier League side. This time, Manchester City.

Newspaper A Bola has a story today saying that due to their early elimination from the Europa League, Braga will have to make some money by selling a star.

Trincão is considered the most valuable asset in the squad, so it’s likely that he’ll be the one. A Bola lists the interested sides as Manchester City, Inter Milan, Monaco, RB Leipzig, Atletico Madrid and Valencia. They say his name has been ‘commented’ among all these sides.

Trincão has a €30m release clause, but that’s only considered to be a ‘reference’ in the negotiations. As he’s been injured for most of this season, Braga can’t really demand a lot for him this time.

Now are Manchester City the only PL side interested in him or could Chelsea finally make an attempt? It sounds like an affordable amount for a January move, especially with Braga interested in selling.
