Manchester City are keen on Palmeiras’ Vitor Reis and have already made efforts to try and sign him in the winter market.

On Friday, Gazeta Esportiva reported the Citizens had sent an official to Brazil to meet Palmeiras for talks regarding the 19-year-old’s transfer.

A day later, we covered claims from Brazil which stated Manchester City had made the first bid, but Palmeiras are unclear how much of it is in fixed fee and bonuses.

Globo Esporte state the centre-back’s representatives have already agreed a deal with Pep Guardiola’s side and he’s now ‘waiting’ for them to agree a deal with his club to arrive at the Etihad.

Manchester City are in ongoing talks with the Brazilian team as the two clubs haven’t yet found a final agreement. The English club made an offer and although their Palmeiras don’t ‘consider it bad’, they haven’t accepted the terms.

Globo haven’t mentioned the details of their bid, but state Palmeiras are hoping for €40m including bonuses and the fixed fee proposed by Manchester City is ‘well below’ their expectations.

In addition to the details of the fee, the two clubs have to come to an agreement for the time of the transfer because Manchester City want to have Reis in January while Palmeiras would like to retain him until the summer’s FIFA Club World Cup.
