Monday’s edition of L’Equipe has a transfer special which mainly concentrates on Ligue 1 clubs and potential incomings and outgoings this summer.

When it comes to Lyon the story is about possible exits from the club, as has been the overriding case in recent years. Lyon have been very good at selling and getting good fees for their players, but several have then gone on to struggle, especially with injury issues.

One of the current crop being readied for a sale is Houssem Aouar. The 21 year old midfielder is thought to be receiving attention from several of the top clubs around Europe, and L’Equipe once again presents Manchester City as one of them.

Along with Juventus, Manchester City have been ‘moving more concretely’ with their interest in recent months, but there’s no explanation of what either of them have actually done.

City’s drawback is their ban from UEFA competitions for two years, although it’s thought that if they can get that reduced to one, the club will be attractive for Aouar, given there’s also the chance to train under Pep Guardiola.
