On Tuesday, we covered a report from Corriere dello Sport which stated AC Milan’s Tijjani Reijnders has cancelled a holiday because of a potential move to Manchester City.
Sources close to the player were sure of it and this was seen as the biggest sign yet about the midfielder’s transfer to the Etihad Stadium.
More indications are now arriving from Italy and things are looking good for Manchester City. Tuttomercatoweb’s Marco Conterio has reported Reijnders is now increasingly distant from AC Milan and is likely to depart soon.
The belief is that a move to Manchester City is ‘ready to be closed’ for a fee of €70m including bonuses. The base fee will be €60m.
The journalist states Pep Guardiola’s side are in ‘close contact’ with the Netherlands international’s entourage and attempts are ongoing to seal the deal quickly.
The Manchester City manager is so keen on Reijnders that he has told Hugo Viana to ‘go hard’ in the chase for him and make a move possible.
The 26-year-old’s fate may soon be sealed and while Milan gave him a new contract some months ago, it was simply their attempt to have more control over a situation which is slipping away from their hands.
