Bayern Munich chief Hasan Salihamidzic has admitted Manchester City loanee João Cancelo has not been happy at the club in recent weeks, but there is no issue with the Portugal star.
Cancelo joined Bayern on loan from Manchester City at the end of the January transfer window in a surprise move that few saw coming.
He was initially thrown straight into the Bayern first-team and impressed but has found himself out of the picture recently, sitting on the bench for the win over VfB Stuttgart and only managing four minutes in last night’s win over PSG in the Champions League.
That has led to reports that the Manchester City man is far from happy with the situation, with it explained yesterday that there are embers of discontent that could turn into a full blown fire in the coming weeks.
Salihamidzic has now admitted that the player is frustrated but insists the two parties continue to communicate well despite that.
“He hasn’t been training and playing quite as he imagined himself lately,” Fussball Transfers report him saying in the mixed zone following the win over PSG.
“We communicate well with him. He is an outstanding player who will become even more important.”
