As Manchester City seem to be taking significant steps to sign Rennes star Jeremy Doku, there are fresh updates on this pursuit coming from the Belgian media.
Journalist Sacha Tavolieri highlights on Twitter that Pep Guardiola’s side are ‘making progress’ for the 21-year-old’s arrival.
It’s said Rennes are expecting to receive Manchester City’s first bid by Monday or Tuesday.
Even though the French side hope for a €60m deal, it’s claimed it’s actually more likely that an agreement can be found for €55m.
Tavolieri claims that discussions for personal terms are ongoing between Manchester City and the player’s entourage, and by the end of the weekend, a ‘positive outcome’ is expected on that front.
Following the exit of Riyad Mahrez, it recently became very clear that Pep Guardiola wants a big signing to play on the right wing.
Featuring for Rennes last season, the youngster had seven goals and four assists in 35 appearances.
Manchester City have been linked to a couple of other wingers, but it seems it’s really Doku who they are advancing for.
