Manchester City have struggled over the past month, failing to win even one game in their past six games in all competitions.

This coincides with the absence of Rodri, who is injured and set to be out for the next few months.

That makes the need for better cover clearer for Manchester City, who have not managed to dictate play as efficiently without Rodri. They have also been prone to counter-attacks in the Ballon d’Or winner’s absence.

Calciomercato have again reported on Citizens’ interest in Torino midfielder Samuele Ricci.

They state that while Ricci’s future is yet to be written, it can be foreseen that he will join a ‘big club’ soon.

Manchester City have been ‘insisting for several weeks’ for the Italian, who has also impressed for the Italy national team in the past two international breaks.

Other English clubs are also in the race but it seems as if Pep Guardiola’s side are ahead.

As of now, Torino have no intention of letting the midfielder leave in January as they want to recover their form. It is a message which has been sent ‘loud and clear’ to the list of potential suitors, which also includes AC Milan and Napoli.
