In March, we covered claims from Turkey which stated Sheffield United were working to agree a deal to sign Gabriel Sara ahead of the summer.
The Galatasaray midfielder, who had arrived at the Turkish club from Norwich City, was said to be someone Sheffield United wanted to secure for next season in the Premier League. Things didn’t go according to plan for the Blades and automatic promotion slipped away.
Surprisingly, it’s now being claimed Manchester City have initiated contact with the Brazilian’s entourage. FootMercato are making the claim, and they state Sara is popular with those in charge at the Premier League club.
Manchester City interest would seem remarkably fortunate for the 25-year-old, especially given there’s not been a huge rush of clubs coming forward.
There’s every chance an agent is at work here, trying to hype up the idea of interest in the Galatasaray player. Time will tell whether Manchester City are genuinely keen, because if they want him… then he’s surely not going to snub them.
